Shahrukh Khan faces the wrath of Hindu nationalists

Shahrukh Khan is an influential figure in Indian cinema whose positions and lifestyle displease the current government. In 2015, he denounced the country's religious intolerance after the murder of a Muslim man, which earned him a comparison to a terrorist by a minister. His eldest son was also arrested in October 2021 during a police raid on a boat, a case that many observers consider a political intimidation maneuver.
