Ten years of writing for a single art article

Art historian Alfred Neumeyer spent ten years writing an article entirely dedicated to the painting The Boy with a Squirrel. Published in 1954, this text describes the work as the greatest tribute to European Baroque. The author also sees in it the expression of the highest Enlightenment concepts and an intense curiosity for the material world.
