Tattooing is officially recognized as an art form

Tattooing was recognized as an artistic expression in October 2023 by the Académie des Arts-Sciences-Lettres. This cultural institution marked a turning point by awarding its vermeil medal to this practice. The prize was thus awarded for the first time to a professional in the field, the tattoo artist Mikael de Poissy.
