Permanent makeup is an aesthetic tattoo made by injecting pigments under the epidermis intended to imitate eye, lip, or eyebrow makeup. This practice is discouraged because facial aging causes sagging of the features which distorts the initial design. In the event of a facelift or eyelid surgery, these indelible lines become unsightly and laser tattoo removal cannot be performed near the eyes.
