An interstate highway ends abruptly because of local residents

Interstate 70 is an American highway that stops abruptly at the city limits of Baltimore. This interruption was decided following strong protests from residents opposing its passage through the city center. The opposition to these development projects was led by Democratic Senator Barbara Mikulski.
