An original writing system doubles the consonant for the feminine
The ELG writing is a script proposed in 1978 by Alan-Joseph Raude to transcribe Gallo without using French spelling. Since final e's have no longer been pronounced in this language since the twelfth century, the creator chose to remove them, except when they make a sound heard. This rule requires doubling the final letter, giving for example graundd for the feminine compared to graund for the masculine.
