Up to 54 bulbils on a single Gagea spathacea plant

Gagea spathacea is an herbaceous plant whose unequal bulbs possess numerous small lateral bulbils attached to them. These outgrowths allow the plant to multiply vegetatively underground. A maximum of 54 bulbils has already been counted on a single plant of this species.
