The French ambassador wrote the inscription of Uraniborg

Charles de Danzay provided the Latin inscription that adorns the cornerstone of the famous Uraniborg castle-observatory. Having formed a close friendship with the Danish astronomer Tycho Brahe in 1572, the French diplomat was asked to write this commemorative text. This epigraph was sealed on the building erected in 1576 on the island of Ven, dedicated to philosophy and astronomy.
