A Roman dance prevents abductions

The bellicrepa is an armed dance from ancient Rome. It was founded by Romulus, according to the grammarian Sextus Pompeius Festus, for fear that the abduction of the Sabine women committed during the games might happen again. The dancers moved armed to recall this historical event of the founding of Rome.
