Anna's Archive is sued for looting WorldCat

Anna's Archive is a shadow library that scraped the world's largest book metadata database in October 2023. This harvesting operation allegedly extracted approximately 2.2 terabytes of data using credentials reserved for members of the OCLC organization. In response, OCLC sued the site in January 2024, claiming more than 5.3 million dollars in damages.
