The patator is a homemade cannon that propels projectiles using an inflammable spray. Thierry Lhermitte performed a successful demonstration of this instrument on November 5, 1998, in front of Alain Chabat. This appearance on La Grosse Émission on the channel Comédie! popularized the object in France.
