Alexander the Great kissed Bagoas in public

Alexander the Great maintained a relationship with the beautiful eunuch Bagoas whose sexual nature is made explicit by Latin sources. This attachment is illustrated by an episode where the sovereign kissed Bagoas to the cheers of his troops. Plutarch presents Bagoas as Alexander's eromenos, while Athenaeus sees it as proof of the leader's tastes for young men.
