Belgium's first aerial victory

Pilot Fernand Jacquet achieved the first aerial combat victory in his country's military history on April 17, 1915. At the controls of a Farman HF.20, he confronted a two-seater German reconnaissance aircraft with his gunner Henri Vindevoghel. The latter shot down the enemy aircraft by firing seven fatal shots that set the opposing machine on fire.
