The only known portrait of Princess Tarakanova is a bas-relief

Princess Tarakanova is an adventurer whose only known portrait is likely a marble bas-relief that belonged to the collections of Grand Duke Nicholas Mikhailovich. A former owner named Nikolai Bezobrazov inscribed on the back that it was her face, after receiving it from his grandmother Anna Fyodorovna who had it from Orlov himself. The object may have been seized by Orlov's men during the search conducted in Pisa at the time of the young woman's abduction.
