Ahsoka and Rex staged a funeral to deceive the Empire

Ahsoka and Captain Rex faked their own deaths to escape the Empire after the triggering of Order 66. To achieve this, they placed Rex's armor on the body of a deceased clone and added Ahsoka's lightsabers before burying them. This deception allowed the former Jedi apprentice and the captain to separate because it was too dangerous to stay together.
