Horatio Nelson misses his father's funeral

Edmund, the father of Horatio Nelson, dies on April 26, 1802 at the age of 80. He disapproved of his son's conduct and had remained good friends with Fanny. Horatio does not attend the funeral which takes place on May 11 in Burnham Thorpe, but he pays for all the expenses nonetheless.
