The hanging of Admiral Caracciolo by Horatio Nelson

Horatio Nelson is a British admiral who refused to respect the amnesty granted to Neapolitan republicans by Cardinal Ruffo. He had Admiral Francesco Caracciolo, who had changed sides during the unrest, tried and sentenced to death. Nelson rejected the condemned man's request to be shot instead of hanged and had him hanged aboard the frigate Minerva.
