Horatio Nelson remained sequestered on his ship for eight months

Horatio Nelson is a British naval officer who nearly ended up in prison after seizing four American ships. This decision applied off the coast of Nevis earned him legal prosecution by disgruntled captains supported by local merchants. During these eight months of confinement aboard the frigate HMS Boreas, he met Frances Nisbet whom he married in 1787.
