The Phantom Menace sets a record for digital effects

The film The Phantom Menace contains 95 percent of digitally retouched images, a first in the history of cinema. George Lucas for this called upon three special effects supervisors during postproduction. John Knoll, Dennis Muren and Scott Squires thus directed these modifications for all the sets and scenes.
