An American tank was already obsolete upon entering service

The M2 is an American tank whose armor was considerably limited for weight reasons. This design made it particularly vulnerable to the German 3.7-cm PaK 36 cannon used during the Spanish Civil War. Recognized as fit for service in the summer of 1938, the vehicle was consequently already outdated when it left the factories.
