The famous miniature Monopoly tokens date back to 1935

Monopoly introduced miniature tokens for the first time on February 6, 1935, in its English-language version. These small metal objects replaced the original simple colored wooden pawns. Players were thus able to move a thimble, a top hat, a boot, a car, a battleship, or a Scottish terrier.
