An artistic anachronism on the Île d'Or

The official Navy painter Léon Haffner illustrated his book "À l'assaut des océans" with a 17th-century galley sailing in front of the Île d'Or. This work presents a temporal inconsistency by displaying this ancient ship alongside the 20th-century tower. The illustration titled "Les Voiles en oreilles de lièvre" uses a strictly nautical term to designate the scene.
