The first North American farmers were nomads

North American agriculture appeared in the current eastern United States under the impetus of nomadic hunter-gatherers. They practiced seasonal crops in spring and summer in flood zones, long before the sedentarization established between 250 BC and 200 AD. Among the plants cultivated from that time are the sunflower around 2800 BC and the pitseed goosefoot around 2000 BC.
