Pyrotechnic hoods save pedestrians

Some vehicles integrate pyrotechnic triggers capable of lifting the hood by a few centimeters during an accident. This innovative device absorbs part of the kinetic energy to prevent or limit the brutal contact between a pedestrian and the engine block. This technology meets the new international standards imposed to reduce bodily injuries suffered by pedestrians during frontal collisions.
