Vidkun Quisling remained silent at official dinners

Vidkun Quisling was a politician perceived in very contrasting ways by his entourage and his opponents. This duality was compounded by a great reserve and a pathological shyness that pushed him to not utter a single word during certain official dinners. The historian or biographer notes however that he demanded otherwise from his services that government affairs remain dignified and civilized.
