In Burundi, pregnant girls are excluded from school

Burundi has been applying a measure since June 2018 that excludes victims or perpetrators of unwanted pregnancies from the education system. This decision is strongly criticized by various actors because it constitutes a double punishment for young mothers. This exclusion is added to other local practices, such as the forced organization of a marriage to respect social norms.
