Chu shogi features forty-six pieces per player

Chu shogi is a traditional board game played on a 12 by 12 grid. Each participant starts the game with an arsenal of 46 pieces of 21 different types. This set notably includes rare or unusual pieces such as a lion, a free king, or blind tigers.
