In Spain, the V16 beacon replaces warning triangles

The V16 beacon is an emergency signaling light device implemented in Spain. It allows a driver with a breakdown to warn other road users by placing the device on their roof without having to leave the passenger compartment. Starting in January 2026, this geolocated model connected to the Directorate-General for Traffic cloud will become the only legal option.
