A collection of thousands of Balinese paintings

Gregory Bateson and Margaret Mead are anthropologists who collected more than 2000 paintings during their stay in Bali. This massive collection was carried out in the mid-1930s thanks to the influx of famous visitors and Western artists. The works came mainly from the village of Batuan as well as from the coastal village of Sanur.
