The alleged magic of ogham sticks is a modern invention

Ogham is an ancient writing system that was mainly used to carve epitaphs and memorials into stone. The use of small wooden sticks carved with a letter for divination has no archaeological or druidic foundation. This practice appeared in the 19th century by being copied from the ancient usage attributed to runes by the Romantic period.
