The first images of cetaceans are ten thousand years old

The oldest known representations of cetaceans consist of cave paintings of hunting scenes. These works were discovered in South Korea and are dated from 6 to 10,000 years ago. They testify to the ancient familiarity between these marine animals and coastal populations.
