An animal park decimated to feed local restaurants

The Aboukouamékro animal park is a 20,430 hectare reserve located 50 km from Yamoussoukro. This site which notably houses reintroduced giraffes and rhinoceroses suffers from large-scale poaching. Specialists estimate that 275 to 300 game animals are taken daily from the area to supply local restaurants.
