Extremely rare characters appear in the Voynich manuscript

The extended European Voynich alphabet incorporates about 100 minor variants created by René Zandergen and Gabriel Landini. These rare signs all appear fewer than 10 times in the manuscript. Almost all other characters in this text of more than 180,000 characters exceed 100 occurrences.
