Eight E's are used to erase a semaphore error

The semaphore alphabet has a very specific error signal consisting of executing the letter E eight consecutive times. This procedure allows for the immediate cancellation of the incorrect word that has just been transmitted. The sender can then restart the erroneous word from the beginning to correct it.
