Dassault created CATIA to design its aircraft in 3D

CATIA is a 3D drawing software developed by the company Dassault to optimize the aerodynamics of its aircraft and study their volumes. While the majority of automobile and aeronautics manufacturers were turning towards 2-dimensional tools, the company made the innovative choice to design a three-dimensional program from the start. This direction allowed the firm to meet aeronautics design requirements as early as the 1980s.
