Trees take on an apple tree shape

Baliveaux are young trees reserved during logging to grow and become large structural timbers. When they find themselves isolated in the middle of coppices, the winds torment and tire them relentlessly. Their stems stop growing while their branches thicken, so much so that they take on an apple tree shape which makes them unusable for the navy.
