The disease with port-wine colored urine

Porphyrinuria is the pathological excretion of porphyrins in urine, which results in a very specific port-wine color. This characteristic coloration can appear or be accentuated during exposure to ultraviolet rays. The elevation of these pigments serves in particular as an indicator to diagnose porphyria or lead poisoning.
