A first UN summit against non-communicable diseases

In September 2011, the United Nations organized their first special general assembly summit dedicated to non-communicable diseases. This meeting followed a resolution adopted in 2010 to raise awareness about the expansion of these conditions. The international community thus reacted to an annual death toll amounting to 35 million people.
