The Santali alphabet was invented in 1925

The Santali alphabet is a writing system designed in 1925 by Pandit Raghunath Murmu to transcribe Santali. The available Indian and Latin alphabets had gaps for faithfully transcribing all the phonemes of this Munda language. Composed of thirty letters evoking natural forms, this alphabet strictly associates a single symbol with each sound.
