Wittgenstein gave an absurd book to his colleagues

Ludwig Wittgenstein distributed copies of the work Sex and Character to his university colleagues at Cambridge, who remained perplexed. He judged the theses of this text false, but considered that it was enough to add a negation to the whole book to make it an important truth. The author of this manifesto, Otto Weininger, had committed suicide by gunshot in 1903, at the age of twenty-five according to the chronology of his life.
