Homosexuality in North Macedonia

Homosexuality is massively rejected by Macedonian society, where 80 percent of the population considered it a mental illness in 2002. Although it was decriminalized in 1996, the anti-discrimination law proclaimed in 2010 did not include it. This situation leaves the local LGBT community weak and disorganized in the face of institutions that evade the subject.
