Walden inspires the Larzac farmers' struggle

Walden or Life in the Woods is an American book whose themes have nourished contemporary political struggles. The subjects addressed by the work include voluntary retreat, industrial criticism and civil disobedience. These ideas were directly taken up by the Larzac farmers as well as by the activist José Bové.
