A magma chamber as large as Mont-Blanc

The Yellowstone magma chamber lies between eight and sixteen kilometers below the caldera. This underground cavity has a maximum capacity between 15,000 and 20,000 cubic kilometers. This gigantic mass represents approximately the size of the Mont-Blanc massif.
