The most powerful tornado in Wyoming struck Yellowstone

Yellowstone National Park hosted the most powerful tornado in the state of Wyoming on July 21, 1987. This rare meteorological phenomenon was classified as F4 on the Fujita scale, generating violent winds between 330 and 420 km/h. This destructive storm completely razed 61 km2 of pine forest in its path.
