Mammoth Cave Park and its plant biodiversity
Mammoth Cave National Park shelters more than 1300 plant species over an area of 214 km2. This diversity is explained by its position in a transition zone between large prairies, dry forests, as well as subtropical and cold climatic influences. The area notably gathers 84 tree species, 209 flower species and 27 fungus species.
