The white plume diverted by Gotlib
In 1969, the cartoonist Marcel Gotlib published in the magazine Pilote a parody of the famous white plume of Henri IV. In this short three-panel comic strip, the plume becomes a trap used by the king to designate a scapegoat sacrificed in his place. Thirty years later, the writer Michel Peyramaure used the formula to title a historical novel dedicated to the sovereign.
