An American military ship shot down a satellite from the ocean

The cruiser USS Lake Erie destroyed a failing satellite at a speed of approximately 36,667 km/h. The operation took place on February 21, 2008 thanks to an SM-3 missile fired from the water. The targeted objective was the USA 193 satellite which was located 247 km above the Pacific Ocean.
