The first probe on Venus did not last long

Venera 7 is the first probe to have succeeded in landing on another planet in 1970. To survive the pressure and heat of the surface of Venus, Soviet engineers had to design an extremely heavy and reinforced craft. Despite these precautions, the infernal conditions quickly got the better of the equipment, although a later model, Venera 13, managed to survive 127 minutes.
