The clouded leopard prefers the ground to trees

The clouded leopard is a large feline endowed with exceptional climbing abilities, thanks in particular to its long tail and the flexibility of its joints. Field observations have nevertheless proven that it moves more willingly on the ground than at height. In 1987, a specimen captured in Nepal thus moved systematically on the ground and rested in the grasslands of Chitwan National Park.
