Clouded leopard spots change as they grow

The clouded leopard is an arboreal feline whose coat metamorphoses during the first months of life. Cubs are born with solid patterns on their flanks, unlike adults. These markings gradually hollow out to form the cloud-like figures characteristic of the species around the age of six months.
